I learnt about this style tip when was on my image consulting and personal styling training course 5 years ago.  However, it’s not until Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge was seen wearing her light taupe LK Bennett Sledge Patent Shoes with her skin toned tights again and again that the fashion journalists decided to jump onto this style band wagon.

The key to these shoes is to ensure that it matches as close as possible to your skin tone. There are many nude shoes out there, so be patient and find one that suits the skin tone of your feet and legs.  The same goes for nude tights.  If you struggle to find the perfect match, it’s best to go a shade darker rather than lighter.

What I love the most about nude shoes is that they will work with any outfit!

Do you own skin coloured shoes?  Which styles or brands would you recommend to your fellow petite readers?

This is one of the best tips ever! I do have nude shoes and looking for the perfect closed toed pump! My outseam measures 35″

    • You’ve prompted me to measure mine. My outseam is 36.5″ and my inseam is 28″

  • Definitely a good tip! I don’t have a true nude heel, but I do have camel-colored ones that I wear often. Much more leg flattering than other colors!

    • My nude shoes are closer to camel colour due to my skin tone 🙂
